Steph: "Batman GROUNDED you?"
A new creative team, a new school, new friends...there have been a lot of changes in Robin just in the last issue, and there's about to be another one as Tim gets a new set of wheels and maybe, just maybe, a new romantic interest in the extra-sized Robin #75! Written by Chuck Dixon with art and cover by Pete Woods and Jesse Delperdang, Robin#75 finds Tim Drake hatching a new plan to win back at least a fraction of the freedom he's lost since his dad enrolled him at Brentwood Academy. Can Tim pull off his daring scheme involving the headmaster and the headmaster's pet dog without getting caught? As the details unfold, a mysterious young woman enters the picture; strange doings begin to transpire in an abandoned tower on the school grounds; and Robin picks up a hot new piece of crime fighting equipment: a jazzed-up little skateboard that we just had to call the Redboard! But if you thought learning to use a 'board was hard, wait 'til you see Tim try to learn how in the middle of a battle against a vicious gang of street thugs called the Sk8bratz! ROBIN is an ongoing series edited by Matt Idelson.
Summary of Stephness: Robin returns to his patrol and tries to sneak back into Brentwood, only to be pursued by the Dean's dog, Cardigan. After an unpleasant encounter with the Dean, he goes on patrol again and checks in on Stephanie. He explains that he's been missing her, and she suggests they go out crime fighting. He tells her that he doesn't have the Redbird anymore, and she suggests they use her Honda, and he explains he's on a curfew. Stephanie finds the whole thing weird, but accepts that it's a part of his private life she can't know about. Tim says goodbye, and thinks to himself that Stephanie is the best, but he doesn't know how long a secretive relationship like theirs can last.
To his surprise, Tim gets beaten up by a bunch of masked vandals on skateboards. He figures out that this happened because the skateboards gave the gang an advantage in motion. Tim takes skating lessons (in particular from a girl named Star) and quickly learns the ropes. He also makes his own Robin style skateboard, which he calls the "Redboard".
Using this advantage, he manages to handily defeat the skateboarding gang. Tim considers his new skateboard "awesome" and a decent substitute for his car, though he knows he can't really take Stephanie for dates on it.
Returning to his dorm room in Brentwood, he sees a shadow of bat and wonders if it was Batman. What Tim does not know is that a family of ManBats is right on top of the university.
