Katavi

Katavi is a deluded fanatic, who terrorized small African villages late at night, killing those he believes to be devils with his armed henchmen. He puts a string around the villages he attacks, claiming it to be a curse.

He attacked the African village Stephanie was staying at during the year she was presumed dead, believing Dr. Leslie Thompkins medicine to be a curse, and that she was "European, come to steal their hearts". He was going to destroy the entire village before Stephanie intervened, dressed in animal skins to scare the men. Katavi managed to shoot Dr. Thompkins in the side while Steph was dodging his bullets and taking out the guards, but Stephanie quickly beat him up and got Leslie medical attention.
