Ives is one of Tim's geeky friends. He and Steph met briefly at Tim's birthday party in Robin #116.
They have been seen interacting since Stephanie's return. They greeted each other in Robin 177, in the issue after that Ives assured Zoanne Tim and Steph were "just good friends" but in the issue after THAT, Tim asked where Steph was and Ives said sarcastically, "Your other girlfriend?" and told him Steph hadn't been in school for two days.
