A 'Final Night' tie-in issue! Robin and the Spoiler battle hordes of criminals who terrorize a city that, like the entire world, has been darkened by the Final Night and inundated with severe snowstorms.
Summary of Stephness: As the "Final Night" event covers the Earth in darkness, cold, and snow, Robin patrols the streets. Spoiler finds him, and though he says he told her to stay off the streets in their last encounter (though in Robin #26, it was Batman who told her to go home), she convinces him to give her a ride (mostly by refusing to take no for an answer).
Tim keeps the mood somber with facts about how the world is freezing to death, and Steph tries to keep things light. Tim stops when he sees people looting, and reluctantly "lets" Steph team up to stop them. However, Tim falls into the store they're looting, and Spoiler follows with skill. Together, they face a chainsaw wielding maniac, but the roof collapses under the weight of so much snow.
When Tim comes to, he frantically digs in the snow to find Steph - and when he does, she kisses him, and says it warms her up. After a bit of bickering about the kiss, Tim starts digging. Steph is angry that he wants to save someone who tried to kill them, but Tim passionately argues for morality in the face of apocalypse. Steph reluctantly agrees, and the first person they find is a woman with her child. Tim gives Steph his heated cape to warm the two up, and digs to find the murderous looter. He finds him, chainsaw blazing, and orders Steph to take the two civilians to safety.
After defeating the thug, Tim finds Steph digging towards a light in the wall. They break through and find it's the sun - the heroes of the world have saved the day. Steph admits that Tim was right about saving the hood, saying she learned something that night. Tim approves, and Steph asks if he approves of the Spoiler, too, but he's not willing to go that far yet.
Behind the Scenes: Steph's lesson in the value of human life apparently needs to be relearned in Detective Comics #796.
