Steph: "How cool is it for this kid? Born to a mom who's still in high school? What's that gonna be like? Wise up, guys!"

Robin learns who really killed his schoolmate, Philmont Delinger, and then finds himself battling not only the killer, but also a forest fire as things really heat up for the Boy Wonder!

Summary of Stephness: Robin and Nightwing fight a gang that are attacking some innocent people. The next day at school, Stanzland thanks Tim for telling the police that he wasn't certain Stanz was with Philmont when Philmont was murdered. This makes Tim uncomfortable.

On leaving the gym, he sees Stephanie Brown with friends. He avoids her, not wanting her to discover his true identity. Steph's come back to pick up her books, as she's now so far along that she'd prefer to be home schooled. Stephanie talks with two friends who find it cool that she's going to have a baby. Stephanie vehemently disagrees with them, saying that her decision was stupid and that it's certainly not cool for the baby to have a mom in high school.

In the evening, Robin has asks Oracle for information about Philmont's murder. A few hours later, he visits Stephanie in his disguise as Alvin Draper. After surreptitiously making sure Stephanie didn't spot him as Tim Drake, he talks to Stephanie about the conversation she had with her friends. She is exasperated at their ignorance. Tim tells her that it's just that things are different for her friends, that they don't have their lives mapped out like her and him, and that they can enjoy the vapidity and carelessness of being young without shouldering the responsibilities Stephanie and himself bear.

The discussion is overheard by Steph's mom who doesn't know what to think about these mysterious words. Tim returns again at the scene of Philmont's murder and discovers a bum there. Tim becomes Robin, and he is questioning a homeless man when balls of fire rain down on them. Tim saves the homeless man and goes after the shooters. He discovers they are Stanzland and Meachum.

The police arrived shortly afterwards, and the homeless man provides a bottle he found with Philmont's blood on it, which is clearly the murder weapon. Meachum and Stanzland confess to the murder and the verdict is final. Tim must shoulder the guilt that he could have prevented the murder, but at least justice has been done for Philmont.
