In the jaw-dropping conclusion of the 4-part ''War Crimes,'' Batman faces two of his deadliest enemies: criminal mastermind Black Mask and the maniacal Joker! Don't miss the shock ending that will remove a long-standing figure from Batman's life!
Summary of Stephness: Batman saves Black Mask from an enraged Joker, who wishes he had been able to kill Stephanie Brown, "the sweetest little Robin one could ever hope for." They are both arrested, but while Joker goes back to jail, Mask murders his guard and resumes power over the mob.
After helping Miss Chen for her honesty in the Stephanie Brown story, Batman goes to Africa, where he's tracked Leslie down to a medical mission camp. He confronts Leslie with her part in Stephanie's death, and she angrily tells him she wanted to get him to stop using children in his war. Batman coldly informs her that she's a murderer, and warns her if she ever returns to Gotham, she'll be treated as such.
