The Orphan has come to the Narrows to kill Harper Row—will interference from Cassandra Cain and Grayson be enough to save her? And, as Grayson desperately tries to unravel the mystery of Mother, he remembers Batman & Robin's first confrontation with the Scarecrow and his fear gas!
Summary of Stephness: Steph is walking home with some groceries as Harper is savagely attacked by the Orphan. She sees Dick Grayson acrobatting his way up to their apartment, and says in awe, "Kiss me, sexy Batman."
As Dick aids the injured Harper, Steph bursts in the room in full Spoiler garb, and proclaims, "Back away from my roommate or...Spoiler alert! You're gonna gargle teeth!" Dick is nonplussed, especially since he just found out that Harper is also a vigilante. Steph, however, recognizes him as dead Dick Grayson, but he directs her to help stabilize Harper, which she does gladly (if a bit snarkily). She notices the smell of fear gas, which sends Dick into a reminiscence.
When he snaps out of it, she is asking him questions about his whereabouts, saying Gotham needs him. He demands her name, to which she responds, "I'm the Spoiler. Enemy of crime and people who don't like purple." Dick is unimpressed, and says he needs her real name, which she reluctantly provides. He is relieved, because her name is not on the mysterious list on Batman's secret flash drive.
Tim Drake, Red Robin then shows up, telling them that his bugs in Harper and Steph's apartment alerted him. Steph is outraged, but Tim assures her that he wasn't watching them, just making sure they weren't in trouble.
